  • Discovery. Discovery channel hurt me. I was 13 possibly 15 years old and I realized that it was all just fake set up trash. They told me it was "reality" I was living a lie. Nothing was ever the same. Still isn't. I now have to watch Deboss Garage weekly for my therapy. He's the only channel I will ever trust to tell me what "reality" is. I know now not all parts fit like a glove and sometimes you spend 8 hours or God forbid more getting a stupid seized and rusted 21mm bolt out when you only have a 19mm or 22mm socket. Not like the head won't break off any way making a socket useless and you gotta go buy a new extractor because you can't find the last one you bought and used once. Yes Deboss therapy is working well...

    jacobfain9jacobfain99 oy oldin
  • Not sure how prevalent they are up north, but in the states the old Thermo-King reefer units were powered by little Isuzu D201 diesels. They had some funkiness about the crankshaft flanges that require modification if you'd like to use a normal vehicle transmission. Not that you'd want to put it in much that would go on the road as they were only like 40 or 50hp tops and were set up for steady state. So, you could get a big electric motor and a ThermoKing motor, some batteries and rig up your own little diesel electric power plant in an old Canada Post LLV mail van. Perfect little 60mpg grocery getter.

  • the little kubota 3 cylinders are sweet I have always wanted to stuff one in to a old cub cadet lawn tractor and make a little stump puller out of it .but my back is so far gone I can barely walk any more for longer then 3 minutes . it's one of those catch 22 kind of things I have 35 years of under the hood experience and a good set of hands but the back is gone and is so rotted it can't be repaired kind of like the mustang . the thing about the mustang it can be saved with a tube front built on to it and a mustang 2 front end kit .

  • Don't know if you will see this question or not but the murphy switches, I thought they grounded out if they lacked oil pressure or got hot so if unconnected entirely then they were bypassed already instead of supplying them with grounds. Like they were mounted in a ground so if they didn't close then.... I'm losing it on the question but see if you can rescue me on this anyway. I was surprised at the end as the knock went away like a lifter started working and the rocker wasn't floating and slamming against the valve or what ever it moved on... oil oil dipstick is never good. I have seen worse, but that one sounded like put me back in coach. I think those clock hours are measured in years times days times like twenty four and then carry the eleven.. a joke ok. I am serious on those switches, can't you just unhook them and supply power to the fuel solenoid ??? Thank you Boss

  • I want to build a gokart with a kubota 3cyl on it. Indestructible as long as they have oil in them. Maybe even slap a turbo on it. I’ve got 11 kubota powered machines at work, never had a problem with any of the motors.

    dirtshower250dirtshower25011 oy oldin
  • Bought an old 16kw onan marine genset with a kubota 4 cylinder diesel from one of the local yards for $50. Gave it a new electric fuel pump, primed it and started right up. I couldn't believe someone would scrap the damn thing. The generator head even makes power. Ripped out the sea water heat exchanger, threw in a radiator and some electric fans and I use it to power my house when the power goes out. I only used the glow plugs 1 time in the 20 or so times I started it, and I didn't even need em even in 20 degree temps. It's amazing what people get rid of. Used to see a ton of water-cooled gas 3 cylinder kubotas in carpet cleaning/pressure washing vans at local LKQ u-pull-it junkyards. Shitty part is they price them the same as car engines. I couldn't make the idiot at the counter understand they're basically lawn equipment/utility engines. Finally I gave up and i'm pretty sure they all got crushed. They could have got $200 out of me for one but they chose $10 in scrap instead. Not my property I guess, but still a waste..
