  • 8 mile? Eminem is Gen X, and the movie is too.

    Rob KirbyRob KirbyOy oldin
    • @Sharvil.Turbadkar, I get that. I agree. 8 Mile is a Gen X movie like Dazed and Confused is a Boomer movie, though. It's about the lives of those generations.

      Rob KirbyRob Kirby16 kun oldin
    • @Rob Kirby lol I just said it it’s not about the musicians life it’s about the fans and the audience who were shaped by the music at that time . Eminem defined my middle school and high school Early 00’s were filled with Eminem wannabes in my high school We were shaped by Eminem and other gen x artists like linkin park , jay z

      Sharvil.TurbadkarSharvil.Turbadkar16 kun oldin
    • @Sharvil.Turbadkar , I was born in October 1978. Most of the artists I grew up listening to were older Gen X. That doesn't change the fact 8 Mile is about a Gen Xers life. How do Millennials relate? I've never even seen Sid and Nancy and have no interest because their lives don't connect to mine.

      Rob KirbyRob Kirby16 kun oldin
    • @Rob Kirby sid and Nancy defined gen x although it was about the lead singer of Sex Pistols who was a boomer It is not about the singer it’s about the audience who grew up listening to their idol who are the fans

      Sharvil.TurbadkarSharvil.Turbadkar16 kun oldin
    • @Sharvil.Turbadkar, the MOVIE is about a Gen X guy and his life, so...

    Mr GaretMr GaretOy oldin
  • There are 2 millennials, the older generation and the younger generation. You can't classify them both as part of the same group. For instance, I was born in 85, while X-Men and Spiderman etc were a staple of Saturday mornings, the younger millennial wasn't even born yet. When Juno, Superbad, Napoleon Dynamite came out I was in my late teens/ early 20s and the younger generation were around 10 and would not care for any of those.

  • Should be "Top 10 Depictions of Millennials" not "Top 10 Movies that Define Millennials", because the defining movies for Millennials are ones that influenced their childhood or teenage years or their young adult years. Stuff like the original "Batman" film from 1989, or Space Jam, or Jumanji, maybe the first Harry Potter film...."Toy Story" was actually a good fit.
