****** About Living Traditions Homestead ******
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

I'll be honest if you took every episode you've ever made, put them in a chronological order and made DVD's I would buy those up in a heartbeat. You and your family do such amazing work, thank you, and thank you for helping my family learn.

  • why not build a stand with a five-gallon bucket with a tap and an overflow to the outside so that the dehumidifier water can be used for flat watering- no mineralization in the water and no hauling of water. plus less use of well water.

  • Just thought I'd add a comment, but maybe you already know this. LED grow lights are different from florescent grow lights. I learned the hard way. The florescents you want as close as possible. But the LEDs are more powerful, and I actually got tip burn from having them too close to my seedlings. Good luck!

  • If you were to remove the plywood off the potting station and replace it with hardware cloth and put a trough of some kind under it, as you are filling trays with soil, any soil that spills over will fall back in to your “soil bin” and you won’t have to wipe off the counter top.

  • You will be doing a follow up video (in a month or so) on the new grow lights to share your thoughts (and results) on them vs the lights you used previously? I got my order for these lights in today and am looking forward to using them soon. (still a bit early for most of my seed starting) Initially I will use these to replace the LED shop lights I have over the onions I started from seed.

It’s the perfect name for your little building. Germination Station, since it is what you are doing. If you don’t use it, I will for mine I think it’s perfect.

  • How about the Seed Shack? I have really enjoyed your channel. It is so much fun to watch your farm and family grow. I have really enjoyed your channel and have been inspired to try a few things. We are a lot smaller than you- six acres and grow hay, vegetables and fruit. We have meat chickens and layer chickens as well as seasonal sheep for meet but on such a smaller scale. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeves next!

  • Gee, you seem to have it all organized well. The only thing I can be concerned about is a better electric system coming into the little room to meet all your needs. Too much on one circuit. Perhaps getting an electrician would be a safe way to go to have more individualized electric boxes placed near where you need them instead extension cords. Danger if a fire with all those extension cords.

  • I like the little set up you’ve got going on. I personally would paint all the wood surfaces with a mold inhibitor and install a floor drain. Kilz has a mold inhibitor that is white which will also help reflect the light so your plants would also benefit. Just my 2 cents, but still a good job.

  • Just wanna say I've really enjoyed your videos over the years. Even though that lifestyle is light-years from my comfort zone it's fun to see how the other half lives. You're both adorable and sweet and really hard workers. You have a beautiful family and a beautiful homestead. It's likely we're on opposite ends of the political spectrum but that wouldn't dampen my enjoyment of peeking in on your very interesting life together. Best of luck going forward and all the best!
