  • Amazing to me how I enjoyed this movie as a kid and now as an adult, I enjoy it just as much for different reasons! I can appreciate the adult themes now! My younger brother and I cried our li'l eyes out when Cochise got beat to death... Mom had to calm us down; lol! Reach Out and It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday were hard to listen to for us after watching this movie back then! lol

  • And “what’s happening” is loosely based off this movie. Sad the man who write it never got credit for all the shows he created. They said he came up “the Jefferson’s” and “good times” too.

    • Lincoln Park and Cooley High are real places in Chicago! Famous and well known. There were many High Schools named "Cooley" in major cities back in the day, many of them closed now. Chicago's just happened to be the most famous. Detroit's in my opinion is respectfully a distant 2nd in terms of notoriety. Both have been closed for a long time.

  • My first time ever watching this movie i remember i was just completing the 7th grade . found it in my auntie ReGina's "Way Back in the day movie Collection" decided to watch it and never imagined i would fall in love with such a remarkable story/movie. And feelings still remain the same after so many years. 🤗 Although i feel old af this movie makes me nostalgic of my Innocent years .. Where my life was just School, Bath&Body works Candy , my cell phone , and My diary. But that was a long damn time ago when life was alot less challenging i'm bein strangled with bills unhappily married 8 months pregnant and struggling with my 2 year old twins fighting eachother over every single thing even down to who's night light is the brightest. Who's taller. Who has more teeth. Who runs the fastest. Who gets to pick what bedtime story i read them before bed. I mean good lord they debate and argue worse than me and their father my husband. Makes me wonder if they are truly my husband and i Reincarnated or something lol. But anyway. I wouldn't trade it all for anything in the world. Im simply grateful and blessed with my family. Anyway . greetings to everyone & Hugs XoXoXo from Ms. TIIA. Dallas, Tx.
