  • OMG removing the engine and trashing the rest. What a waste. There are so many other things that that unit could have been used for if you didn't want a reel mower. I just hate to see stuff destroyed and broken down that has potential for New Life, even if it's something difference like turning it into a ride on tiller, mobile dump bucket, snowblower, and a bunch of other things that he could have had life as

  • Shoot some fire starter down in the carburator. You're going to burn another starter up like. I've done it myself. I like the older model machinary. It's much easier to work on and they still run like a sumbich. Look at these for instance. I don't think ti sit up as long as it did because every hydrolic hose on it would buts wide open as soon as he started engauging the hydraulics but I'd love to be there helping or do what i could to help. You guys stay safe a God Bless

  • If the hydrostat is a bit "jumpy" and sound like that it can be due to air in the sytem or just way to little oil inside. If they are handled correctly they last forever basically :)

  • Those three cylinder Kubota engines are very common on bucket trucks, usually the same fuel as the truck, to operate the hydraulics without running the truck engine. I worked on a lot of them in the gasoline version. Not a hot-rod mill to be sure, but interesting engines, probably a workhorse for small tractor and lawn applications.
